UCSC Furries / Furry Geeks
Unbeknownst to most students, UCSC is home to quite a few furs -- in an average size class, there's a good chance that if you're not furry, someone else in the room is. However, until now, there wasn't any good means of communication between furs nor any form of community, which isn't good for anyone.Goals of the UCSC furries:
- Provide a communications medium for local furs
- Spread awareness of the furry community
- Help introduce new furries to the furry community, and hopefully help them learn a bit about themselves in the proccess.
- Educate non-furries about the realities of furry culture, and how it differs from the version portrayed by the mass media.
- Have fun!
If you're looking for information about furries or furry culture, please read our "What is furry?" page, which contains a general description of furryness plus a large list of myths about furries and why each one of them is wrong.
If you're a local fur, welcome! We're always looking for new members. If you're not quite sure if you're furry yet, feel free to poke through all our links, reflect on your life, see if you associate with anything here, and even if you end up deciding you're just plain human, you'll hopefully still learn a bit about yourself.
Unfortunately, our site is still under construction, and most of the pages aren't written yet. When our webmaster is done with finals, final projects, moving, and all those other things that happen in june, he'll hopefully have time to finish the site. (Note that we may move to another domain; bushytails.net is only a temporary home. But if we do move, we'll put a link to the new site!)
